Kevin

Director

As the director of KG Bathrooms, local man Kevin Girdlestone has a substantial amount of experience in the bathroom sector. He started out his career in the drinks dispense installations for a local company before leaving to travel around Australia with his wife Liz. On his return, Kevin set out to specialise in bathroom installations by building on his own experience of working alongside highly skilled tradesmen, and learning all aspects of the work including tiling, joinery and plastering. Outside of work, father of four Kevin is a busy family man and junior football coach, so there is seldom a day he isn’t on the go. But you know what they say, if you want something done, ask a busy person!

Catherine

Showroom Manager

Catherine worked at Barclays Bank in Huddersfield for 7 years before she left the UK. While abroad she worked in various management positions for international companies mostly in Hong Kong, but also for a year in Buenos Aires, Argentina as Operations Manager for Heale Financial. From 2009 to 2010 she project managed the move for S&P’s Hong Kong headquarters into a new office, before staying on with the firm for another five years. Catherine returned to her hometown Holmfirth in 2019. 
Catherine joined KG Bathrooms in 2019, overseeing the daily management and operations of the showroom.
She enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, cooking, music, running, and is an avid reader & member of a book club,

Marcus

Bathroom Expert

Marcus Started out fitting Bathrooms from a very early age, working weekends and school holidays with his father. After leaving school, he won an apprenticeship with Hopkinsons Valves to become a mechanical engineer in the valve industry. After becoming a qualified engineer, he worked on carrying out the maintenance of high-pressure steady valves here in the UK, overseas and off shore in the North sea before becoming a site manager on a coal fire power station for 10 years. In his spare time, Marcus enjoys spending time with his 3 children, classic car restoration and several projects ongoing in his garage at home.

Phil

Bathroom Expert

Phil left school and studied an apprenticeship as a HGV mechanic. He worked for Arrow Commercial for 6 years and in the short time moved from apprenticeship through the ranks to become workshop manager. Afterwards, he joined Angloco retraining as a fabrication engineer manufacturing fire engines. After 10 years he moved into the service department where his time was spent servicing and maintaining fire engines as well as training the firemen to use them. He joined KG Bathrooms in 2017 on a self-employed basis to pursue a new career and to be closer to home. Married to Kathy with 2 children, Phil enjoys running, walking and cycling.

Rob

Bathroom Expert

Rob finished school and spent a couple of years at Art College before beginning work with his father as an apprentice plumber. He started working for KG Bathrooms in 2012. and is the longest serving installer. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his young son and has a keen interest in music, quizzing and poker.

Tom

Bathroom Expert

Tom has worked within the industry since 2006, working on prestigious developments across the north of England including Granary Wharf in Leeds City centre and Salford Quays in Greater Manchester while studying for NVQ fitted interiors qualification. Outside of work Tom enjoys spending time with his 3 children, travelling, cycling and supporting Huddersfield Town and Spurs which takes priority most weekends.

Jez

Bathroom Expert

After leaving school to train as a bricklayer, Jez moved to Chester to work for a construction company before returning back to his hometown of Huddersfield. He then headed into the fire protection industry to work on various commercial and industrial projects including RAF and military bases, power stations & nuclear facilities, hospitals and sports stadiums. Jez joined KG Bathrooms in August 2020, where his duties involve delivering bathroom suites and tiles to our customers and ensuring the smooth running of installations by assisting projects with his wealth of experience and knowledge. In his spare time, Jez likes spending time with his two children, hiking, DIY, snowboarding and classic motor scooters.

Tracy

Administrator

Originally from Lancashire, Tracy originally came to Huddersfield to study Hotel and Catering Management and liked it so much that she stayed! Following stints working in Florida for the Walt Disney Company and also as a tour representative, she settled in Huddersfield with her future husband. She worked in the travel industry for ten years, working in both Leeds and Manchester USA and Worldwide travel specialists. She then worked in two secondary schools in Kirklees in various administrative posts, eventually working her way up to become the school Attendance Officer.

Keen to get a better work-life balance and looking for a new challenge, Tracy started working at KG Bathrooms in April 2021. She works alongside Catherine using her organisational and administration skills to ensure the smooth running of orders, deliveries and quotations for customers. In her spare time she enjoys watching her son play rugby as well as playing some touch rugby herself. She also enjoys walking, crafting, sewing and UK and international travel.

Richard

Bathroom Expert

Richard left school and went to work for Royal Mail where he stayed for 11 years. He then went on to college to study Tiling and started his own tiling business soon after. In 2014 he opened a bathroom showroom with his business partner which they ran until early 2022. 


Richard is married to Joanne and has 2 teenage daughters. In his spare time Richard watches football and follows Formula 1.
